Our Story
BeyLoved Pairings creates immersive food and beverage pairing experiences that bring people together through global flavors, storytelling, and community. Every event is thoughtfully designed to spark curiosity, encourage connection, and celebrate the joy of discovering something new around the table.
Founder Joanne Mumbey is a Certified Cicerone®, Florida's first Black female Certified Pommelier™, Culinary Dietitian, and was recognized as one of Wine Enthusiast's Future 40 Tastemakers in 2025.
Originally from Uganda, Joanne's global upbringing introduced her to a rich tapestry of culinary traditions through her parents' international work, inspiring a lifelong passion for exploring food, beverage, and culture. While studying Culinary Nutrition at Johnson & Wales University, she discovered her love for craft beer, but noticed that many pairing conversations centered primarily on European cuisines. She saw an opportunity to broaden that conversation by celebrating the diverse culinary traditions that had shaped her own palate and experiences.
That vision became BeyLoved Pairings—a company dedicated to showcasing the incredible possibilities of pairing craft beverages with the vibrant flavors of cultures from around the world.
Drawing on her cultural perspective, culinary expertise, and meticulous attention to detail, Joanne curates experiences that are both educational and memorable. Each event features thoughtfully crafted menus, carefully selected beverage pairings, and collaborations with talented chefs, breweries, cideries, and artisans. No two experiences are ever the same, but each is designed to leave guests feeling inspired, connected, and eager to explore new flavors.
